It's Clarence Fisher, your host, and today we're at episode 67 where we're going to talk about five simple steps that you can take to create a profitable ClickFunnels funnel for your small business. Five simple steps for you to query a ClickFunnels funnel, profitable ClickFunnels funnel.
You don't want one that's just going to sit there, right? For your business. Now, if you don't know what ClickFunnels is, ClickFunnels is a, I could say landing page builder, but it's more than that. It is really, you got to know what the definition of a funnel is. A funnel is someplace you send people that really focuses on converting them from a visitor or somebody outside of your business into a new client or a new lead. And way, way back when, I couldn't even remember what year it was, but I was really struggling. I started struggling with generating leads for some of our clients. As we were creating these, we were just creating a landing page on our website and an opt-in form on the website and sending traffic to the website. Now, when you send traffic to a website, this is early on in the days of internet to them, when you send traffic to a website, you've got all these, this navigation at the top.
So we would take away the navigation. We were at least that intelligence to take away the navigation at the top. So all a person could do is really call or enter their information. But where I was, I got to give myself credit for this, okay? This is how smart I am. I called my guy that I met when I very first started my business. He's out in California, Mike Manu, and asked him if he knew anyone that was running ads that we could tap into them kind of higher to come in and show us what we're doing wrong, take over some of these accounts actually, and show us what's going on. So Mike goes, yeah, remember my son that was at so-and-so conference with us? I was like, huh, little out, you're Alex. He said, yeah, well Alex is working with this agency and that agency and he may lemme talk to him.
So anyway, I have a call with Alex and I'm like, all right bro, I'll give you a shot with this one campaign. My dude knocked it out of the park, right? So he created his funnel using ClickFunnels, jumped in and redid like the copy and all this stuff. And here's the beauty of ClickFunnels is what happens after they enter their information. So after they enter their information, then they are can entered into a sequence or you can immediately upsell them to a different and offer. So let's say you're a chiropractor and you are running ads to this funnel and they enter their information on the very next page. Do you know you could actually, typically on the next page we have them schedule an appointment, but you could actually charge them for that appointment at that time because you're running a special, right? And you want don't want to have a bunch of no show so you can charge at that time if you wanted to, and then all of the follow-up sequences after that, it can kick off and we have it.
The lead jumps off into a Excel spreadsheet even. man, it was just crazy, but all of the automations and things that he put into place, and so we were off to the races and this is why you hire. This is why you go and get counsel when you are hitting a roadblock. So thank you much much. Thanks. Still to this day, years and years and years and years later to Alex Manu and my man Mike Manu, if you're looking at Alex, hire Alex for whatever you want, you need done. Alrighty. So what I'm going to show share with you today is how, I mean, we've implemented ClickFunnels throughout just about every client that we have. Alright? Now, if you are looking at ClickFunnels and you're like, how can we use this in our business? I'm going to walk you through it. First of all, you want to make sure that you know your target audience, which this is super elementary.
If you've been listening to this podcast, you definitely know your target audience. If you do not, and this is your very first episode listening to us, you need to create your customer avatar so that you know who you're speaking to. One of the biggest mistakes that people make is they're just throwing something out there and it's not really speaking to anybody. You're speaking to everybody, which means you're speaking to no one. So know your target audience and their pain points because you want to put that on your landing page. You want to speak to their pain points. Now, for this example, we're going to say you're generating leads. You're not in an information product business though any business can be, but we're generating leads. You are a service business that provides a service and you want leads. Let's start with that. So first, you want to go to ClickFunnels, go to ClickFunnels.

All right, so you're going to in there, you can find templates that they've already created that makes it super simple to at least have the structure to of the pages created, and then you can just fill in your headline and all that stuff. But you want to come up with an irresistible, either lead magnet or an irresistible offer.
A lot of times if we're running Facebook ad campaigns, then it's going to be an irresistible offer, meaning this offer really kind of makes you cringe to even offer it. If it makes you cringe, then it can be irresistible. It's like, Hey, sign up to for this consultation, but also get this, and then you also get this, and you also get this just for showing up or sign up for this introductory jaw dropping offer. It's like you get all of this for just this amount, so get your offer together. If it's a lead magnet and I say lead magnet, it could be a report. I will tell you that reports aren't working as well as they used to. What's really, really working are checklists, any type of lists, lists of tools. So if you can give someone a checklist to follow if say you're a financial planner, make sure you have all these ducks in a row.
Make sure you have all these things in a row before you die, and then give the checklist. That might be a funeral home. Yeah, that would be great with a funeral. I don't know how we're getting morbid here. Pull up, pull up, pull up. Okay, but you get what I'm saying. You could create a checklist of things to give away or you could do a report. I mean, reports still work. We just know that checklists work even better or some type of tool, which financial planners use this all the time is enter your numbers here and see what it's going to take for you to retire. That's a lead magnet. So build your landing page there in click funnels, and one thing you want to make sure to do is have the follow up immediately. You want to follow up with a welcome email. Then you want to follow up with what to expect, especially if they've scheduled an appointment.
I'll tell you this. What you can do too is let's say they opt in and they go to by opt in I meaning they put in their information, and then the very next screen that they see, and this happens on ClickFunnels, you have a page there. You can input your Calendly calendar or your schedule once or where, whatever calendar you use, input that on that second page. That way they can click the button and pick a time to come see you. I would automate as much of this stuff as possible.

But here's what can happen is when they enter the information, they go to this next page to your calendar to click a time to show up. Then that should trigger the automated follow-up, and you can do this inside ClickFunnels. If you already have an email marketing system, you can do this. You can hook your quick funnels up to your email marketing system so that it sends out the welcome email. Thanks for scheduling. Here's a bit about our company. Hey, tomorrow I'm going to send you an article or blog or something on whatever headline, and I would say whatever the next thing that you send them should be something to help them along their journey and then also help also give them some information that will prove your expertise. Let them get that and give them, say, three emails, one every single day for three days.
Yes, we go through this. We talk about the welcome sequence. What was that episode that I'm I here lately? I've been referring this episode. Let's see, it was Sue Anderson episode. Just go to the localmarketmonopoly.com and search for Sue. It was episode 37 for welcome email series. Make sure that you get that implemented. Okay, so design that, and then if you're selling anything, you can have upsales and down sales. And a beautiful thing about ClickFunnels is all this can be automatic. So especially if you're selling something, let's say you are a salon and you have ClickFunnels set up on your website. If you have a WordPress website, it can go right into your website just and look just like it was part of your website the whole time, and you're selling products. Now, if I buy this lotion or I buy this even package, I buy this massage package.
Did I say the salon? Okay, let's say the salon is selling massages too. Then I book a 60 minute massage and I pay for that. The absolute next thing I see as well, hey, if you bought that, you're probably going to want this of course. And then if I say no to that, you can also have it say, oh, okay, well, I get it. You probably didn't want that, but you definitely want this. Okay? Or I would not keep people in that loop for too long. You can, you go through some processes where they're trying to upsell you till Tuesday and you're like, you know what? I don't even want to come anymore. Don't, what can I refund? Can I just get my money back? So don't keep them in that upsell down sale sequence too much, but you can do it if you want to.
So here are the steps. Let's, let's wrap this bad way up. Here are the steps. Number one, define your target audience. Actually step pre number one is just go get the 14 day trial, and then they've got some training in there as well. But the main thing is they have templates in there, and I'm thinking we should, guys should link to a template as well and give you a template that we've seen working in for local businesses, and that way you can just click the button and import that into your ClickFunnels account. Ha, haha. What do you think about that? That's why I was saying the 14 day trial was going to be so important because I'm giving you, oh, funnel, ah ha, ha ha.
Ah, okay, alright. So you can click it and you can have it. So step one, define your target audience, and then two, create an irresistible lead magnet. Either report a checklist, a tool that people can go and download or create an irresistible offer. Whatever that top page is, put your offer or your magnet there or your report. And then I think the biggest thing you also want to do there is make sure your button that's on that front page has a color that is contrasting. I think ClickFunnels in their templates are pretty good at that so that people can see the button that they need to do. I know it sounds super simple, but on that button, put what they're going to get on the next page, whatever, make that text, whatever they're going to get on the next page. And then put in step four, put in your, did I give you step three?
Oh, yeah, build the landing page. So step two is create the offer. Step three, build the landing page within ClickFunnels, or you can have your person do it. And step four is a design, the effective email follow up. I told you where to go so you can get that follow up sequence so that you make sure that you nurture your leads so that they convert. A lot of times you need to nurture so that they convert, and if they've already scheduled, then you definitely want to send a welcome sequence so that you indoctrinate them to who you are so that when they show up, you already have that authority. If you're selling anything or want to sell anything, you can put in an upsell. Even if you're not selling anything on the initial page, when they go to the next page, you can sell them what's next.
That is the process is like on the thank you page, you can sell them what's next, and then if they purchase that, you can also sell them something to speed up the results. So yes, you downloaded this, here's what's what you will probably need next. If I purchase that, here's what can speed up the process, the result to what's next If you do it that way, people don't get upset with being upsold because it's not, there's no different than if I'm sitting in front of you and you say, yeah, Clarence, I'll, I'd like that. And I'm like, okay, well cool. Well, if you get this, let's say we're going down this road, the next thing you're probably going to want is this. And then you're like, oh, okay. Yeah, that makes sense. All right, well, if you're getting this, if, and this is totally up to you, but if you want to get the results in three months instead of seven months, then you can get this.
Well, yeah, I want the results right now. Well see. That didn't sound bad. And so you can do all of that within ClickFunnels and the my what?
